The 2 Acuvue color contact lens are available to those who do not require a prescription and just want to enhance or change their natural eye color. They also are available for those who need prescription eye wear. They are limited, however, to those needing prescriptions between +6.00D and -9.00D (in 0.25D & -0.25D steps). Your doctor should help you determine if color lenses are a good choice for you.
You should never allow anyone else to try on your contact lenses to see how they look. If you share your lenses with a friend, you are increasing your risk to getting eye infections and other complications.
The darker colors do not have color over the portion that covers your iris. The lighter colors that are intended to enhance the natural color of your light eyes do have color over the iris because they are so opaque, they will not interfere with your vision.
Acuvue color contact lens do require a prescription. Even if you do not need vision correction, conact lenses are considered a medical device that must be prescribed by a doctor.
